Many of my cases are handled on a contingency basis. Generally that means you do not pay anything until there is a recovery through either settlement or judgment. Other cases are handled on an hourly rate basis, and some cases are handled through a flat rate fee. In a few cases that involve fee-shifting statutes, such as the federal civil rights law, it is possible that the attorney fee will be paid by the losing party.
