Do not despair. A federal law empowers you to not only stop the faxes, but to collect up to $500 or more per junk fax from the junk faxer or broadcast faxer. You have a right to use your own fax machine for your purposes, and not to print advertisements for someone else selling cell phone service, travel packages, multi level marketing schemes, toner supplies, and the like.

Federal law provides damages of $500 for unsolicited advertisements sent to fax machine - i.e. junk faxes. Junk faxes which are sent in violation of the law wilfully or knowingly are subject to up to triple damages, or $1500 per junk fax.
